• Thank you Sarah Shulkin (State Assembly Boerner Rep)for all the years you have updated LJTC and for celebrating with us LJTC’s 75 years Anniversary with the inaugural of the Multicultural Festival by the Sea. Sarah is starting a new position as Policy & Engagement Manager for the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance! Conservation, sustainability, environmentalism is her passion, we are so happy for you!

• La Jolla Light Ashley Solomon reached out to LJTC on June 27th regarding the potential early Thursdays closure of the LJ Rec Center. I stated that I think the question should be why would the LJ Rec Center close early on Thursdays when there are two community groups LJCPA and LJTC who utilizes the auditorium for its meetings?
  I informed Ashley since the May Mayor’s Budget Cut 2027 proposal of potential closure and hours cut for Rec Centers across San Diego, LJTC understands the City’s budget deficit, we graciously accepted in paying the non-profit $30 an hour fee. Though historically this has been waived for La Jolla Town Council.

• La Jolla American Legion Post 275 - The Mt. Soledad National Veterans Memorial was conceived in 1952 by American Legion Post 275 of La Jolla, California to honor war veterans of the Korean War.

    With little visibility of neighbors backing out of their driveway when cars are speeding 40, 50 -70 miles its a matter of when a life is taken. 2641 Calle De Oro neighborhood proposes a flashing stop sign. (per Mr. Stennes July 3rd and Ms. Eaton June 24th email with Joaquin)
